Why 8 Feet

If you play three-cushion, you already know the problem. A regulation match table is 10 feet by 5. Even a "small" carom table is usually 9 feet. Add the cue clearance you need on every side and you're looking for a room most houses don't have.

The Alyse is 8 feet. It plays true carom — same three balls, same no pockets, same game — in a room you probably already own.

That's the whole idea. Everything else is built around it.

What Is Carom Billiards?

Carom billiards is played on a table with no pockets. Three balls, two cues, and the object is to strike both other balls with your cue ball in a single shot. In three-cushion — the most popular form — your cue ball has to touch at least three rails along the way.

It's the dominant cue sport in Korea, Vietnam, France, Spain, Turkey, and much of South America. In the United States it's a small, serious community that has spent decades importing tables from Europe and Asia because almost nobody builds them here.

If you grew up playing pocket pool, carom is a different game entirely. Most people who try it never fully go back.

Built in America

Built in America The Alyse is built to order by a manufacturing shop in Columbus, Ohio. Solid oak cabinet, routed apron detail, square post legs. Most serious carom tables come from overseas — Gabriels, Verhoeven, Chevillotte, MIN, SAM. Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Korea, Spain. Excellent tables, all of them, and all of them a long and expensive way from your living room, with lead times and parts availability to match. The Alyse is made here. Ordered here, built here, delivered here. When something needs attention, you call a number in Texas and a person answers.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it really have no pockets? — Correct. Carom billiards is played on a pocketless table. If you're looking for a table to play eight-ball or nine-ball on, this isn't it.

Can I play pool on it? — No. There's nowhere for the balls to go. This is a dedicated carom table.

Will it fit in my room? — For an 8-foot table you'll want roughly 17 by 13 feet to swing a full-length cue comfortably on every side. Shorter cues can reduce that. Send us your room dimensions and we'll tell you honestly whether it works.

How heavy is it? — Slate is dense. Plan on a ground floor or a floor you know can carry it. We'll talk through it before you order.

What cloth colors can I choose? — Any color Simonis makes. Traditional carom blue is the classic, but it's your table.

Is the bed heated? — No. Heated slate is a match-condition requirement at the international level. The Alyse is built to tournament-grade construction standards but is not a heated table.

How long does it take? — Each table is built to order. Contact us for current lead time.

Can I see one first? — Get in touch. Depending on where you are, we may be able to work something out.

$9,999 — table, Simonis cloth in your color, Aramith balls, and free delivery and setup in Texas. Outside Texas, freight quoted separately and setup not included. Every Alyse is built to order and must be paid in full before production begins. All sales are final. That's the price. Not "call for a quote," not "starting at." One number, published, because you shouldn't have to get on the phone with a salesman to find out what a table costs. Financing available. Ask and we'll walk you through the options. Free delivery and professional setup anywhere in Texas. A slate table is not furniture you assemble from a box — it has to be leveled properly or it will never play right. In Texas that's included in the price. Outside Texas, $9,999 covers the table. Freight is quoted separately based on your address, since shipping from Ohio to Seattle costs more than shipping to Dallas. Delivery outside Texas is freight only — setup and leveling are not included, so you'll want a local billiards installer lined up. Tell us where you are and we'll give you the number before you commit to anything.
